At Kindred Early Education, we believe:

That children learn best in an environment of security, understanding, consistency and creativity.

Education is acquired by experiences where the child is an active participant in their environment.

Confidence is built through success.

An environment of cooperation rather than competition is the best atmosphere in which to learn;

Our curriculum

We provide a wholistic curriculum for every child which incorporates the following elements:

outdoor education, including a bush kindy program endorsed by Nature Play Queensland and believe that children should be active participants in their community through frequent excursions into the neighbourhood in which the service is situated;
practical life skills – children are active participants in all aspects of their days at our service including meal time preparation and packing away; sleep routines, application of sun protection products (these skills are taught and supervised by our educators to develop children’s confidence and independence);
an inquiry based curriculum with active involvement encouraged and expected from families each week;
mindfulness activities with an emphasis on a calm and progressive environment;
music classes in accordance with a curriculum developed by Wee Make Music; and
a language program.

Our physical environment

Our centre has been designed so that children have opportunities to engage in active outdoor learning, where children can build confidence, resilience and social and emotional wellbeing, where creativity is nurtured with an emphasis on open ended play experiences.

Our centre is small in scale, with just 86 places over 5 studios – from 6 months to school age. The studios are designed in a way to foster learning with rich materials and experiences with a heavy influence on loose parts play and the use of natural resources.

In any environment, both the degree of inventiveness and creativity, and the possibility of discovery, are directly proportional to the number and kind of variables in it. Simon Nicholson, Architect
